PHILOSOPHY

The Bachelor of Science in Mathematics is a program designed to meet the growing industrial demand for experts in Mathematics who are competent in and knowledgeable about Mathematics. The program has a strong focus that prepares students for the growing need in the world of Science and its application in Industry, to ensure meaningful contribution towards the realization of the national dream of sound scientific background for industrial advancement which furthers the Benson Idahosa University’s vision of raising academics, professionals and entrepreneurs who will be effective disciples for Christ, by excelling in their professional field.

 AIM

To   produce expert in Mathematics at the Bachelors degree level.

 

OBJECTIVES:

1. To produce Mathematics graduates relevant to our national manpower requirements, needs and concern.
2. To provide service-courses in Mathematics to students of other departments whose programmes require a working knowledge of Mathematics.
3. To provide courses and supervise professional and academic research leading to the award of Postgraduate diploma and higher degrees of this university.
4. To promote and encourage research in the various areas of Mathematics.
5. To produce graduates that can work in supervisory/advisory capacities in industries and other sectors of the national economy.
