HOD’S Welcome Message

We in the department of Agronomy and Environmental Management, Faculty of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology dearly welcome our students back to Benson Idahosa University.

The department is one amongst the other departments (Animal Science and Animal Production also Agricultural Economics and Extension services) all in the Faculty of Agriculture.

The department has two options, Soil Science and Crop Science running currently with future hopes of having the Environmental Management options.

Agriculture is the back bone of a nation. “No Agriculture no nation”. Therefore Agronomy which is the study of soil and crop cannot be rule out of the Nigerian economy.

Soil is the back bone of Agriculture and other sections of Agriculture live within the soil

The proprietors of Benson Idahosa University have great intention to promote Agriculture in the country. Hence it has established the first Faculty building in the Okha site. The staff and students are fully carrying out activities at the Okha site.

We are grateful to God and His grace for moving Benson Idahosa University into greater heights.

The department of Agronomy and Environmental Management appreciate the Chancellor, The President F.E.B Idahosa, the V.C. Enerst Izevbigie for making Agriculture one of the leading courses.

The department’s wish is to make Agriculture a prominent occupation whereby wealth will be obtained by anyone who studies Agronomy and Environmental Management.

Benson Idahosa University welcomes all students and staff of the department. We pray God to give you wisdom and understanding to carry the university forward to greater heights.
